70 BAL HARBOUR BALANCING ACT ALEXIS GOLDSMITH IS ALL ABOUT BALANCE, from kids to wardrobe styling to her sustainable seafood delivery company, Harbour Trading. Spring is the perfect time for hitting that delicate harmony between playful and practical, elegant and effortless. Goldsmith takes a moment to tell us about the best way to keep stride in style this season. 4. What's on your must-have list for Spring? I'm really embracing all things romantic for Spring: ÀÕvyiÃ>`yÀ>]«Õvv shoulders and tiered skirts. Dôen, LoveShackFancy and Ulla Johnson do it so well. As we live through this ongoing feminist revolution, it feels natural to me to embrace the soft side of womanhood. I like to put a twist on the looks by mixing in androgynous pieces: Levis or high top Vans with uber-romantic dresses and tops. 3. As a stylist, you are in constant need of inspiration. Where do you turn to be inspired? Instagram is amazing for being inspired internationally. I follow @terryesbec from Spain, who posts impeccable street looks, and @captainandthegypsykid from Australia, who lives my bohemian dream life. Locally I'm continuously inspired by the kids of N.Y.C. Especially the teens who are always wearing things just a bit differently—in a good way! 6.Which jewelry designer is on your wish list? Dezso by Sara Beltran, for sure. We share a love of the ocean and her organic designs incorporating sea urchins, shark teeth and shells resonate so much with me. 1. You get to meet so many designers who are starting their brands. Who is your favorite right now and why? I have had the pleasure of collaborating with LoveShackFancy a few times this past year to style their kids shoots and their mother-daughter collaboration with Minnow Swim. Their founder and creative director Rebecca Cohen radiates that girly- girl vibe and her brand has such a strong vision of vintage-inspired femininity. I wear their clothes every day on vacation and never tire of them. Their ÀÕvyi«iViÃ`ÕViÀi inquiries from strangers than anything else I have worn recently. I truly adore them. 7. Who is your favorite sneaker designer for working on set? The designer sneaker of late has been the biggest gift. As a stylist who is on my feet all day, comfort is key, but I still want to look current and chic. I adore the rugged playfulness of Golden Goose and the minimalist simplicity of Saint Laurent. 2. Dream vacation? Right now I am extremely keen on Australia and especially Byron Bay. I would love to take my girls there to explore the beaches and shops. The design aesthetic coming out of that area right now really appeals to me. Part bohemian, part minimalist and totally carefree and livable. I would go tomorrow if I could. I have a feeling my husband and I would fall in love with it and never come back! Monnalisa; 305.868.2164 Saint Laurent; 305.868.4424 5. As a mother of three girls, what are your favorite brands for kids? We are so fortunate to have so many amazing kids' lines these days. Monnalisa always comes through with amazing occasion dresses. I adore Stella McCartney's spirited, embroidered denim. Eberjey is my go-to for lounge sets and beach cover ups; Bonpoint for timeless knits and understated day dresses.
