He is editor-at-large for Robb Report, a columnist for Bloomberg Luxury, and contributes regularly to the Financial Times Weekend and the New York Times. For his first contributions as Bal Harbour's travel editor, Ellwood penned stories on this year's hottest destinations, as well as the Amalfi Coast's most famous hotel, saying of the latter: "I love Le Sirenuse—who doesn't? But it's not the hotel itself that makes it so special; it's the family behind it." EMIE DIAMOND Art historian and critic Emie Diamond has curated exhibitions for more than 30 international artists, and has been published in the Courtauld Institute of Art, London's journalŽImmediations, Rutgers University'sŽWoman's Art Journal, as well as Cultured, Hunger, and The Critic. For this issue, the London-based talent presents five of the spring's most anticipated books, sure to spark travel inspiration. JOSHUA HENDREN Joshua Hendren is a British fashion, jewelry, and watch writer for the luxury supplements of The Week. Based in London, he also contributes to Something About Rocks, Tatler, Mr Porter Journal, and Glass. In his Bal Harbour debut this issue, Hendren delves into the storied relationship between Formula 1 and watchmaking, as well as the staying power of the driving shoe. MAY 2023 KONSTANTIN KAKANIAS Artist Konstantin Kakanias's drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and animated films have been exhibited worldwide, published in several dedicated books, and seen in outlets like the New York Times, Vogue, and Town and Country. Based between LA and Greece, Kakanias recently designed the Hollywood murals for Fanny's, the restaurant at the new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in LA. Inspired by the glamour and excitement of the Formula 1 races in Miami, the artist created an original artwork for the cover of this special edition of Bal Harbour. KATE BERNARD Kate Bernard is a freelance journalist, luxury market expert, and content creator who covers everyday fashion and jewelry. Her educational background in consumer economics has been instrumental in shaping her vision. Bernard launched her career alongside renowned celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger and went on to be market editor at Editorialist for more than three years, where she combined storytelling and commerce to grow the private styling program and editorial site. For this issue, she reveals the summer season's most exciting new jewelry, accessories, and looks—straight from the runways. ENRIQUE MENENDEZ Miami-based Cuban American journalist and editor Enrique Menendez focuses their work on the intersection of luxury and popular culture.
