Carolyn Travis PUBLISHER ISSN 2771-9189 Start Your Engines. Last May, when Chanel sent its Formula 1–inspired Resort collection down a sand-strewn runway in Monaco, the world's premier race car drivers were preparing for their Miami debut. It's hard for us to say which presentation we loved more, but both left us breathless—and keenly aware that the zeitgeist was picking up speed. I'm delighted to present our first-ever Bal Harbour Special Edition, in celebration of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. As our city continues to evolve—an apex of culture, joy, and luxury—we're embracing this moment as one of unapologetic indulgence. This may sound a little familiar to those who have witnessed more than one Miami renaissance, but it couldn't be more fitting that top-tier racing is the occasion that has recently catapulted the city into yet another period of unabashed celebration. Visitors from all over the globe will return to our subtropical paradise for this storied event in the world's most popular motorsport. For a glimpse into the history of Miami and car racing, read Les Standiford's thoughtful dive. And just as Miami is a destination for globetrotters, we Miamians also relish the pursuit of adventure. Case in point: the year's most bucket list–worthy destination: Antarctica. Frequent Bal Harbour contributor Nick Remsen recounts his visit there with luxury outfitter White Desert. Elsewhere, our newly appointed Travel Editor Mark Ellwood has rounded up 10 of the year's most hotly anticipated hotel openings, from New York City to the farthest most reaches of Bhutan. I've already mentally checked into One&Only Kéa Island. What to pack for all these exciting excursions? We've got you covered. This issue's Must-Haves pages were designed to inspire your summer wardrobe—whether you find yourself in the city, on the shore, or even out at sea. And speaking of inspiring, we check in with one of the most hospitable families on the planet, the Sersales, whose Le Sirenuse hotel is the very definition of la dolce vita. With that in mind, I leave you with our city's own take on the good life: Bienvenido a Miami.
