WHAT I'LL BE GIFTING THIS SEASON Number one on my gifting list this season is merch from our very own Bal Harbour Shops 1965 Collection. My favorite look is the white-on-white T-shirt, but the sweatpants are the coziest ever, and who doesn't love a Dad cap? I've been a longtime gifter of Michael Aram's beautiful frames, which I now send to family members with a picture of my son, Tommy. I find that there's always a new travel title out from Assouline that makes a great gift of inspiration, or a way to commemorate a recent trip. I also love giving gift boxes from James Perse and crisp linen shirts from 100% Capri, and this year, my sister is getting the most classic of accessories: a pair of camel and black Chanel slingbacks. There's a buzz that's practically audible by the time Art Basel opens its doors, and the international arterati descend on our shores en masse. It's the convergence of so much all at once—the good life, as defined by its many parts and players. And we delight in nothing more than welcoming them all to our own little corner of the luxury universe. After Art Week, the buzz is still here, but a little more ambient compared to the frenetic energy of the week before. In my opinion, this is the sweet spot. Growing up in Miami, and still today, I rarely travel during the holiday season: It's just too good here! But, in January, I'm keen to take advantage of my proximity to so many great destinations, including the Caribbean. I can't wait to explore Bequia—which, as Mark Ellwood shares in "Bequia Beckons," is a true barefoot luxury escape. Speaking of luxurious escapes… turn to page 54 and dive into our decadent gift guide. If ever there was a celebration of unabashed luxury, this is it. And let us be the first to say: It's ok to covet these items! We're here to support you on that journey. And back to our perfect proximity: The Shops is embarking on a little journey of its own this season—and taking a number of its tenants along for the ride. The Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-Up just k icked things off in Raleigh, Nor th Carolina , where a custom-built shopping center—replete with tropical foliage and fine dining restaurant, The Whitman—is bringing the magic of BHS to a new audience. Next up: Greenville, North Carolina, South Walton County, and Tequesta, Florida. Back at Bal Harbour Shops, there's so much to be excited about. Our brand-new Gallery features art installations celebrating our love for fashion illustration in a brand-new space for engagement on Levels 2 and 3. You won't want to miss the cheeky vintage advertising campaigns we uncovered in our archives. And of course, the Shops is alight with joyful expressions of the holiday season just about every where you look, including a live symphony orchestra and a limited-engagement al fresco cinema screening. Be sure to follow along @balharbourshops for all of the details. We can't wait to welcome you back!
