Outside of that, I'll be spending time with all of my favorite local Miami artists at the fairs and museums. YOUR GO-TO WARDROBE FOR MIAMI ART WEEK INCLUDES: Color, lots of color. I've been wearing vibrant Jams World artist print shirts every day since December 1, 2016; it's my uniform that originated during Art Basel. Wearing these shirts felt so fun, I kept it going to form a style that displayed how I feel inside on the outside. This Art Week will mark 2,555 days straight. THE HOLIDAY SEASON ISN'T COMPLETE WITHOUT: Nothing compares to hopping on a sailboat during the holidays in Miami. The best friends are friends with boats! YOUR MIAMI SECRET SPOT IS: A few of us long–term locals have recently come together to re-open the former Rec Room under the Gale Hotel, which is now called Medium Cool. It's a top-notch cocktail bar with some stellar danceable vibes that you will always feel welcome to drop into. WHICH LOCAL CULTURAL VENUES ARE YOU PLANNING TO EXPLORE THIS WINTER? I'm always super excited to see the new programming at places like the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, Primary Projects, The Wolfsonian, Miami Film Festival, Kusama at PAMM, shows at Understory, vinyl at Dante's Hifi… the list is endless! A PLACE ON YOUR 2023-24 BUCKET LIST: Japan and Korea are next up. I've been looking forward to spending a few weeks diving into all the epic design and intentional ways of life. A BOOK YOU'D RECOMMEND: "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle changed my life in 2020. My father had recently passed away, and this book helped me reconnect and discover presence at a time when we all were feeling more alone and confused than ever. I tend to gravitate toward colorful dresses, pieces with interesting silhouettes, and accessories that are conversation-starters. I usually attend Art Week as art! WHAT ARE YOU COVETING RIGHT NOW FROM BHS? Ferragamo has these incredible bow sandals in a royal blue that are perfect for the holiday season. I'm also loving espresso cups from Tiffany & Co.in various colors. They make the best gifts! WHEN SOMEONE ASKS YOU FOR YOUR TOP MIAMI RECS, YOU SHARE: Makoto for the best spicy tuna crispy rice, crab salad, and tres leches for dessert. Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt perfectly reminds me of everything that's beautiful about Miami. It was the first fragrance I bought when I moved here, and I wore it non-stop. It's light and fresh with a hint of sweetness, and brings back the memories of my first few months living here. Especially when the days are so full and you're on the go. MIAMI MOMENT YOU ARE MOST EXCITED FOR THIS SEASON: I love the buzz and energy during the season. NADA, Untitled, and Scope are great for discovering emerging artists. A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION YOU'RE INVOLVED WITH: In 2011, I founded Style Saves, which blends the lines between fashion and philanthropy. Throughout the year, we host a range of fashion-focused and wellness-related fundraising events within the community. We've grown to be the country's largest back-to-school initiative, supplying 15,000 students each fall with necessities. A TRIP YOU'VE PLANNED FOR THE WINTER: In December, my husband and I will be traveling to Japan, one of our favorite destinations. We are drawn to the minimalist design aesthetic, the cuisine, and finding the best designer vintage.
