C O L I N C O W I E : J OA N N E D U N N in this issue T C Executive Editor Tali Jaffe-Minor has been contributing to Bal Harbour for nearly 15 years. A Miami native, Jaffe-Minor lived in New York for a decade before relocating to Northern California's Wine Country, where she now lives with her husband and two young children. It's also where she learned about Cyrus, the Michelin-starred restaurant she writes about for this issue in "Legacy Project." "Chef Doug Keane is an incredible disruptor. His story reminded me how powerful asking Why? can be." "My holiday wish list reveals an unhinged desire for bags: Bottega Veneta's Hop (large, Olive Oil), Loewe's XL Puzzle fold tote with their holiday Submarine felt charm (for whimsy!), and Sofia Tcherassi's small bronze Sofia bag. But most of all, I'm wishing for uninterrupted time in my cozy living room, lounging with my kiddos while watching Elf." Event designer and producer Colin Cowie has created some of the most talked-about parties and events around the world for a roster of clients that include Oprah Winfrey, Jerry Seinfeld, Nicole Kidman, heads of state, and foreign dignitaries. For this issue, Cowie kicks off our "Table for Two" column, interviewing supermodel Karolina Kurkova. Cowie is the author of 11 books and sits on the boards of several philanthropic organizations focusing on arts, education, healthcare, and mentorship; his charities include: Lalela, Ubuntu Pathways, and Infinite Family. "On my wish list: After an incredibly busy year, I am looking forward to going on safari at Singita Ebony in South Africa to chill and relax before celebrating Christmas with my family." Jorge S. Arango has been writing about design, architecture, and art for more than 40 years. For his first contribution to Bal Harbour, Arango spoke to architect Aline Asmar d'Amman, who designed le Petit Salon at Chanel's Le19M in Paris. He is co-author of 14 designer monographs and is working on a book about the contemporary art of Maine, where he is the art reviewer for the Portland Press Herald. His work has appeared in House & Garden, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, and others. "Though I'm a compulsively social person, on my holiday wish list is a secluded vacation in the Seychelles with a pile of great books, a private chef, and housekeeping—but no other people!"
