This issue's cover story, "Charleston Charm," marks his fifth for the publication. "The magazine is one of my favorite clients, so when I got the call during a winter holiday in West Africa, I quickly changed my flight to make it to Charleston… and then an historic blizzard swept through the city. Though we had to push the shoot back by a week, everything ultimately aligned, and I was able to collaborate with my friend, stylist Dione Davis, and with hair and makeup artist Adam McClay on our second Bal Harbour project, and, at last, with model Erin Eliopulos, who has been a fixture on my mood board—perhaps for our signature gap teeth!" Alev Aktar reports on fashion, beauty, travel, and design news. Aktar is a contributing editor at the New York Post's Alexa section, and her work has been published in the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and Robb Report, among others. For her first contributions to Bal Harbour, Aktar writes about a spectacular Buccellati watch, and a cinematic short film created to celebrate the Shops' 60th anniversary. "I loved learning about the history of Bal Harbour Shops and its pioneering founder, Stanley Whitman." Nora Dahlia Zelevansky is a lifestyle writer whose work has appeared in the New York Times, Elle, Town & Country, Condé Nast Traveler, the Wall Street Journal, and Vanity Fair, among others. She's also an author with several titles under her belt, including her debut contemporary romance, "Pick-Up" (Gallery Books). For her first contribution to Bal Harbour, she interviewed wellness pioneer Talana Bestall. "As a travel and wellness writer, my happy place is where those two worlds intersect. I loved learning all about Talana's Alma Frequency festival—such a dreamy mix of enlightenment, stimulation, and escape." Dione Davis is a New York–based stylist known for her refined aesthetic and ability to craft compelling visual narratives. For her first contribution to Bal Harbour, Davis styled the cover story, "Charleston Charm," shot on location in South Carolina by Brad Ogbonna. "My favorite look is the pink Prada coat. It looks like the lived-in vintage piece of my dreams! Paired with chic tights and heels, it's very me." D A in this issue BALHAR B O U RSH O P S .CO M
