C O U R T E S Y O F Z E U S styling power how to wear it A strong accessories game is part of the winning formula of A-list celebrity stylist duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald. BY INGRID SCHMIDT Colman Domingo, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and Danielle Deadwyler all stepped out during the recent awards season in looks conjured by the renowned LA-based fashion stylist team of Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald. Known as Wayman and Micah, the pair also counts Regina King, Taraji P. Henson, Jodie Turner- Smith, Aja Naomi King, and Olivia Munn as clients. While each star in their roster maintains their individual style, strong and bold are two words that capture an undercurrent the stylists never fail to nail in the innovative looks they create for the red-carpet runway. Bannerman, who grew up in Miami, began his career in investment banking in New York; while working for JP Morgan Chase, he enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology, taking evening classes there before pivoting to a fashion market internship at GQ magazine that led him to styling. McDonald, originally from Zanesville, Ohio, worked in fashion wholesale at Alice + Olivia and Marc Jacobs before moving into styling. The two freelance stylists joined forces in 2013, five years after meeting at a house party in Harlem, and have been on the rise in Hollywood ever since. In the frenzied week leading up to the 2025 Golden Globes (and before LA was under siege by the devastating wildfires), the pair took time to discuss their favorite spring trends, personal uniforms, and advice on core pieces that every woman should have in her wardrobe.
