Six million cubic yards of dirt were moved to create the more than 7,000-yard layout, a Tom Fazio II and Mike Davis design, which introduces manufactured hills, dunes, and bluffs that rise as high as 47 feet above sea level. Pete Dye did the same at Teeth of the Dog in the Dominican Republic. Today, both courses are considered masterpieces. In the future, similar declarations could be made about Atlantic Fields.
