Cecilia Carlstedt has been working as a full-time illustrator since graduating from the London College of Communication in 2003. After spending several years in London and New York, she is now based in her hometown of Stockholm. Experimentation is an integral part of Carlstedt's creative process, and she uses various techniques in her work, including ink, screen printing, and collage. Her clients include the New York Times, Harper's Bazaar, the New Yorker, Zegna, LVMH, Tiffany & Co., De Beers, and Off-White. Carlstedt illustrates the five chapter frontispieces for this issue. "I loved the assignment of being given five titles for each chapter as a starting point for interpretation. It's my favorite kind of brief—one that allows me to be playful with medium and color, transforming the ideas into something visually fun and inviting." in this issue Jennifer Perlman built her career in publishing and marketing at Condé Nast and American Express, spending 15 years in New York City before time in Aspen and Los Angeles, where she currently lives with her husband, Brandon. Together they run Social Studies, an influencer marketing agency that blends strategy with creativity for global brands. A lifelong traveler with an editor's eye, Perlman brings a worldly perspective to fashion and lifestyle. Embracing the slopes is one of her favorite pastimes, making winter style truly essential. Of her roundup of true alpine glamour, "How to Après Now" she says: "Chloé's Winter collection is to die for. The shearling scarf with tons of pompoms haunts my dreams!" Brandon Perlman is an entrepreneur and luxury travel journalist based in Los Angeles after nearly two decades in New York City. Brandon spent the early part of his career at Departures magazine, where he launched Departures.com. He also authors the popular Substack, The Alpine Dispatch. Reporting our "Insider's Guide to the Alps," Brandon notes: "When researching such vastly different ski towns for a trip, it's important to know the elevation for each one, so you can prioritize your itinerary."
