New York–based writer Jay Cheshes covers art, design, food, and travel for the Financial Times, Smithsonian, and Town & Country, among other publications. For the current issue of Bal Harbour, he covered "Wonder Women," interviewing a maximalist host, a top-shelf interior designer, and a vintage-style trendsetter. "It was fascinating to dive into the lives of the creative women behind three gorgeous and inspiring new books." Booth Moore is a Los Angeles–based fashion writer and brand strategist whose work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Women's Wear Daily, Vogue Business, and many other outlets. A frequent contributor to Bal Harbour, Moore was happy to reconnect with designer James Perse for this issue. "He wrote the playbook for selling laid-back California luxe to the world," she says. "As a fellow Grateful Dead fan, it was also incredible to hear about his relationship with the late, great Bob Weir, and how his approach to worldbuilding influenced the designer's brand." Moore is also the author of three books, including "American Runway: 75 Years of Fashion and the Front Row." Adam Erace is an award-winning writer who contributes to Travel + Leisure, Fortune, and many other publications. He is the author of six cocktail books and cookbooks, including his latest, "In Session: Low-Proof Cocktails for High-Quality Occasions." For this issue's "3-2-1" (his first contribution to Bal Harbour), Erace headed to the British Virgin Islands, a trip that inspired him. "I was really taken with the natural beauty of the islands. Stunning beaches and water: Sure, you expect that in the Caribbean, but the lush, jagged green mountains and kaleidoscope of flowers were a wonderful surprise." When not covering dreamy travel destinations, Erace lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Charlotte. in this issue P H OTO S BY N E A L S A N TO S ( E R AC E ) , N A DYA K A R YO (C H E S H E S ) BALHAR B O U RSH O P S .CO M
