Bal Harbour

Belizean-born photographer Andre Gabb arrived in Miami in the late 1990s, and quickly became known for his blend of fashion and street photography, creating striking, timeless imagery. For his first contribution to Bal Harbour, Gabb shot model Veronica Webb for the new column, "Model Behavior." "Photographing Veronica was a privilege. She has an incredible ease in front of the camera: graceful, confident, and effortlessly expressive, which made the collaboration feel natural from the very first frame." Ingrid Schmidt is a freelance writer and editor who contributes regularly to The Hollywood Reporter, where she was formerly senior style editor. She has two columns in Bal Harbour: "How to Wear It" and "Get the Look," which this issue focuses on the return (again) to '90s fashion. "Oh, what fun it was to revisit memories of New York City during that decade. In 1997, I did a stint as Gucci's US public relations coordinator; under Tom Ford's reign I had the privilege of traveling to Milan for the very show that Demna nodded to in his Fall 2026 collection. Somewhere along the way, I managed to acquire one of the provocative GG medallion G-strings. While I wouldn't mind if my behind looked as cheeky as it did back then, no closet purge will ever tempt me to break up with my OTT trophy of those glory days." Jake Emen is a travel, food, and drinks journalist who wrote this issue's "3-2-1." "It's impossible not to be charmed by Vienna's classical beauty, but some of the most memorable moments from this recent visit were characterized by the city's fresher faces, from stunning vegan tasting menu dinners to chic rooftop bars," he says. This issue, she lends her signature ethereal style to our five frontispieces that open each section of Bal Harbour. Her illustrations have been published in Vogue, and her work, which often explores the meditative aspects of nature, has been exhibited internationally, including at the London Design Museum.
