C O U R T E S Y O F R O S E W O O D B A H A M A R The Caribbean's most coveted addresses are no longer defined by turquoise water alone. At Rosewood Baha Mar, a new vision of island luxury puts culture, cuisine, and a genuine sense of place at the center of the experience. THE NEW LANGUAGE OF CARIBBEAN LUXURY There was a time when Caribbean luxury was measured almost exclusively in shades of blue. The more dazzling the beach, the better the resort. Add a private cabana, a frozen cocktail, and perhaps a sunset sail, and paradise was more or less complete. Not anymore. Today's traveler arrives looking for something beyond escape. Beautiful surroundings and impeccable service remain givens, but increasingly, the real luxury lies in understanding where you are: eating something grown or caught nearby, discovering the work of a local artist, learning about the landscape, or simply having a conversation that reveals something about the place you've traveled to see. At Rosewood Baha Mar, set along Nassau's Cable Beach, that shift has become central to the experience. The resort has 131 rooms and 90 suites, yet its ambitions extend well beyond the traditional FRQ¿QHVRID&DULEEHDQEHDFKUHWUHDW Bahamian art, ingredients, botanicals, traditions, and the natural environment are woven throughout the stay. "Caribbean luxury today is about a genuine sense of place," says Daniel Scott, Regional Vice President and Managing Director of Rosewood Baha Mar. "Travelers are looking beyond beautiful surroundings and exceptional service; they want to understand where they are, connect with the people and culture, and return home with a deeper appreciation for the destination." For Scott, the idea is less about adding local touches than allowing the destination to inform the experience as a whole. "The luxury is in how seamlessly those elements come together while still feeling distinctly Bahamian," he says. A WORD FROM OUR TRAVEL PARTNER 158 158 BALHAR B O U RSH O P S .CO M
