IN 1995, TOM FORD SENT A NEW KIND OF GUCCI down the runway—and fashion was never quite
the same. For his Fall/Winter collection, the then-creative director introduced a distinctly '70s sensuality that offered a
glamorous counterpoint to early-'90s grunge: satin shirts unbuttoned to the waist paired with hip-hugging velvet
trousers, all worn with the kind of confidence that would become a Ford signature. Presented by the era's most
magnetic models, including Helena Christensen (pictured here), the clothes felt louche, provocative, and thrillingly
modern. The collection didn't simply revive Gucci, it established Ford as one of fashion's defining voices.
