This April, the photographs of Irving Penn land at the Dallas Museum of Art.
The first retrospective of the irreverent American photographer in 20 years,
"Irving Penn: Beyond Beauty" celebrates the artist's accomplishments across fine art, documentary and fashion. This survey, organized by the
Smithsonian American Art Museum, will travel to five other cities when the show closes in August. Alongside Penn's photographs will be
never-before-seen Super 8 films of the artist at work in Morocco, made by his wife, Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn, which provide another layer of
intimacy to this in-depth exhibition. —Kat Herriman
